Being at the forefront of the ground transportation industry in innovation and technology, Carey International understands the risks of conducting business in a wireless world. Our clients demand that their personal data is secure and stored safely and their privacy protected. Carey International has adopted one of the industry’s most comprehensive data security policies that has guided our technology development process and driven our standards to reduce risk and keep our customer data safe.
Carey International’s proprietary Carey Enterprise System (CES) powers our entire technology stack. A powerful database and reservation system integrates into dispatch, websites, mobile apps, billing applications and more.
Internal and external communications between employees or clients containing any elements of personal data are encoded in such a way that only authorized parties can access it.
Carey International does not store credit card information. Instead, we process a data token, or a substitute, that by itself has no extrinsic or exploitable meaning or value, that sends information to the credit card processor and equates the token to your credit card.
State-of-the-art defense software combined with heavily encoded security firewalls protects Carey International’s systems. Even though credit card numbers are not stored, we still protect personal identification data, account information and other elements from exploitation.
The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) is a set of security standards designed to ensure that all companies that accept, process, store or transmit credit card information maintain a secure environment. All Carey transactional environments are PCI DSS compliant, and audited and certified quarterly by Trustwave®, a leading PCI DSS compliance firm, ensuring our client’s payment data is kept safe and secure.
Carey International features a distinct disaster recovery and business continuity plan that focuses on maintaining several back up data centers across the United States. If Carey International’s main operation in Frederick, MD were to fail or experience an unrecoverable outage, our systems would switch to our back-up facility in Chicago, leaving no discernible interruption of business.
